The Hong Kong ICT Awards are designed, under a collaborative effort amongst the industry, professional bodies, the academia and the Government, to recognise, promote and commend excellent achievements in the local ICT community. Our Mobile Link Service scooped four titles in the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2008.
The Hong Kong ICT Awards 2008 presentation ceremony was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 9 February 2009. The Honourable John C. Tsang, JP, Financial Secretary of HKSAR, was the Officiating Guest of the event. Mobile Link Service, our newly launched outdoor support and care service won four Hong Kong ICT Awards:
Best Ubiquitous Networking Grand Award
Best Ubiquitous Networking (Mobile Enterprise Solution)Gold Award
Best Ubiquitous Networking (Mobile Infotainment Application) Silver Award
Best Lifestyle (Social Life and Community) Silver Award
During the Ceremony, Mr. Peter Nip (Chairman of SCHSA Executive Committee), Mr. Erwin Steve Huang (Technical and Engineering Sub-Committee Convener of SCHSA), Mr. Tarek Robbiati (CSL Limited Chief Executive Officer), Ms Irene Leung (Executive Vice President, Corporate and Business Markets of CSL Limited) and Dr Andrew Lai (Chief Executive Officer of mSolution Consultants Ltd) received the Best Ubiquitous Networking Grand Award from Mrs Rita Lau, JP, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development.
Comments from the Best Ubiquitous Networking Award Judging Panel: “It is an innovative and great breakthrough of social enterprise utilizing ICT and mobile device for elderly care and support. With further improvement, it can be extended to digital wireless e-health system in the future. As elderly population expected to increase in the coming decades, with the use of the service, it can uplift social harmony and create good social impact.”
Since launching of the 24-hour Personal Emergency Link (PE Link) emergency support and care service in 1996, SCHSA has never stopped in identifying new service needs of our users and one of them is the request of extending this peace of mind from indoor to outdoor. So we have put in a lot of efforts in researching and developing the Mobile Link Service so as to encourage all the senior citizens to step beyond the confines of their homes and enjoy active lifestyles in their communities.
